COMMENTS FROM THE PANEL:
Nelson Aspen: GH proved there was more to this man than "Patch" and as great as it always is to seem him back in Salem, I'm just glad Y&R had the sense to sign him up and keep us from having to wait for DOOL to wise up.

Alan Carter: The list of great characters is obvious.

Damon L. Jacobs: What makes Nichols continue to mesmerize viewers after 25 years on our screens? Take a look in those deep blue eyes (or eye as Patch on DAYS).  There you will find heat, intensity, anguish, and commitment to the his role that is hard to find on daytime or anywhere else.  Nichols doesn't just portray these tortured souls, he embodies them, and never allows one piece of dialogue, one gesture, or even one blink of an eye to register as false.  DAYS and GH (and briefly SANTA BARBARA) were elevated by presence, I'm glad Y&R had the wisdom to do the same.

COMMENTS FROM CO-STARS/CO-WORKERS/INDUSTRY:
Patsy Pease: (worked with Nichols on DAYS OF OUR LIVES) As wise as he is precise with his choices as an actor. He is always improving his craft and a joy to work with and watch!

  1. Stephen Nichols rated #41???? He should be rated #1! He's proven he can flesh out diverse characters and make them totally believable. Seeing him play the street wise Patch to going to the urban, suave Stefan Cassadine should prove that. He's doing it all over again with Tucker McCall on Y&R.

  2. I remember hm on Santa Barbara.
He interpreted the new age psychiatrist of B.J. (Sidney Penny).
I remember that he analyzed her in a room with Japanese décor, dressed in a kimono and sitting on the floor.
    Great Santa Barbara!
