2010 Streamy Award Nominations Announced

The nominations for the 2010 Streamy Awards were announced live on Monday morning in Los Angeles. There were a number of soap operas and continuing dramas that received nominations, although there were several glaring omissions. Indie Soap Award winners in the lead acting categories are nominated (Craig Frank and Rachael Hip-Flores) but many of the deserving nominees did not get recognized by the Streamys.

Here are the soap-related nominees:

Best Drama Web Series
ANGEL OF DEATH
COMPULSIONS
OZGIRL
THE BANNEN WAY
VALEMONT

Best Male Actor in a Drama Web Series
Craig Frank (COMPULSIONS) - Indie Soap Award winner
Robert Englund (FEAR CLINIC)
Joe Absolom (GIRL NUMBER 9)
Mark Gantt (THE BANNEN WAY)
Eric Balfour (VALEMONT)

Best Female Actor in a Drama Web Series
Zoe Bell (ANGEL OF DEATH)
Rachael Hip-Flores (ANYONE BUT ME) - Indie Soap Award winner
Tatyana Ali (BUPPIES)
Sophie Tilson (OZGIRL)
Crystal Chappell (VENICE)

In other categories, COMPULSIONS and ANYONE BUT ME were nominated for Best Writing and Best Directing in a Drama Web Series, LUMINA for Best Cinematography, and Nathan Fillion was nominated as Best Guest Star for PG PORN.

As for the glaring omissions, did the Streamys folks even watch DIARY OF A SINGLE MOM? The acting, directing, writing were all top notch. Julian Breece needed to be recognized somewhere on this list. Kai Soremekun is an undeniable force on the web and her absence is felt. If you want to see more Streamy omissions, visit indiesoapawards.com.
