Daytime Emmy Awards Pre-Nominations Announced

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards.

A preliminary drama performer ballot containing each of the six performer categories was assigned to all registered, eligible peer voters from NATAS and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This ballot contained the full list of all entrants submitted from each show and each voter was entitled to select as many candidates as they believed worthy of Emmy® consideration. The candidates below who received the highest number of votes for each show in each category now advance to the final at-home screening round. This round, due to be conducted in March and April, 2010, will determine both nominees and winners.

The 37th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards will be produced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in late June, 2010.

  1. It appears the only folks remembered from ATWT last year was the "Cain kills Abel" storyline. Almost everyone who touched that got a pre-nom... but curious, where's Meredith Hagner!?!

  2. I think it's criminal that Jessica Leccia wasn't nominated in at least the Supporting Actress category for Guiding Light.

  3. The two best things about The Young and the Restless this year, IMHO, were Beth Maitland and Tricia Cast. Where are they?

  4. Woohoo! for Crystal Chappell for Guiding Light! You rock and deserve the nomination and you definitely deserve the win!!!

Congrats to Alison Sweeney, Kristian Alfonso, Arianne Zucker, Nadia Bjorlin Shelley Hennig and Molly Burnett from Days of our Lives...

My one complaint is that Jessica Leccia was not nominated in Outstanding Supporting Actress...
Way to go James Scott, John Aniston, Shawn Christian, Joseph Mascola, Chad Diedrick, and Dylsn Patten from Days of our Lives...

I am so excited...Congrats to all Guiding Light nominations too...

  5. I'm sorry to see Jessica Leccia and EJ Bonilla missing from this list.

  6. Who is up for Best soap? I'm not going to watch it they won't give a tribute to ATWT; even if it will be on TV.

  7. On the whole these are pretty decent prenoms. Wish more GL folks had submitted themselves.

I love me some Arianne Zucker but if she gets nominated for supporting that would be possibly the worst case of category fraud ever. Nicole was far and away the lead character of Days last year.

  8. Go OLTL! Woooo! I'll be rooting for Bree Williamson, Scott Evans, and Brett Claywell. The only OLTL pre-nom I disagree with is Crystal Hunt. Who made that decision?

  9. Meredith Hagner missing is a crime!

I don't understand how JR Martinez as Brot is in the younger actor category, though.

  10. I do think its a shame that Jessica Leccia is missing from the prenoms and Justin Deas, but I do remember reading somewhere that he no longer puts himself up for nomination. All in all I think its a decent set of noms.

  11. BETH MAITLAND should have been a pre-nom for Supporting Actress. Hell she would have WON the Emmy for Supporting Actress had she not ben overlooked - and Y&R has the cajones to put it's brilliant LEAD actress, Stacy Haiduk, with TWO ROLES(!) in the SUPPORTING category? What a JOKE.

  12. Congrats to Kristian Alfonso!!!

  13. Any idea when or where we will get to see the reels for these prenoms?
