COMMENTS FROM THE PANEL:
Mimi Torchin: Is there anyone who can deliver the dramatic goods like Kim? Like a speeding locomotive, her power as an actress is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound! Okay, that metaphor is a little mixed, but Zimmer is indeed a Superwoman. In a genre created to worship and showcase divas, she has often out diva=ed them all! Reva may be gone, but Zimmer will never be forgotten.

Damon L. Jacobs: There is no matching this force of nature that we call Zimmer.  Her unparalleled ability to portray women with resilience, defiance, and abundant spunk are indelible parts of daytime soap history.  This is a woman who plays by her own rules and thereby inspires the rest of us to do the same.  By standing up for what she believes, speaking out against perceived injustices, and lending pride to the word "slut," I can honestly say that Zimmer has served as a role model for myself and millions of others both on and off-screen.

Connie Passalacqua Hayman (Marlena De Lacroix): Her classless Reva on GL was never my favorite picture of soap womanhood But Zimmer's acting in many daytime roles has always been full of heart and hellfire, and her Emmys are well deserved.

Jonathan Reiner: She couldn’t save SANTA BARBARA or GL (no one could), but she carried those shows with gusto and honesty. I can’t wait to see her next gig!

Alan Carter: A bad girl on THE DOCTORS and a terrorist on ONE LIFE TO LIVE...roles long forgotten because she put such an indelible stamp on the slut of Springfield.

Roger Newcomb: The first time I ever met Kim Zimmer back in 2001 I told her that the "Slut of Springfield" scene was one of the greatest moments in television history. Since then when I've seen her we've mostly talked about football (she's a Jets fan), but her riveting performances have continued to amaze. Reva Shayne was given some of the most ridiculous plotlines on TV over the years, but Zimmer brought heart and conviction to every single one.

Thom Racina: (wrote for Zimmer on SB) Just fabulous.

COMMENTS FROM CO-STARS/CO-WORKERS/INDUSTRY:
Robert Newman: (worked with Zimmer on GL) Kim is one of the craziest, toughest broads on the planet. This also happens to make her one of the finest actors one could ever hope to work with. She is always honest in her work. Nothing is phoned in. Nothing is manufactured. She is the real deal 24/7. She will fight and argue and scratch and claw in rehearsal, but when that red light goes on, she is 100% committed to whatever the story is at that moment. She is a force to be reckoned with. When you’re on camera with Kim, you’d better bring you’re "A" game. She will. Every time.

Claire Labine: (wrote for Zimmer on GL) She was a peach. She was a real trooper. She’s awfully nice, and she played to the hilt everything that came her way.

  4. Yeah! Love Kim Zimmer!! Congratulations! She is my all time favorite to watch. No matter how crazy the story line was, she "always" delivered. I miss my Reva, and I really miss my Reva & Josh.

  5. Where are the recent photos of KZ? You seem to only show her in her early glamourous years, when Reva had great SLs and the acting was riveting. She deserved this award 15 years ago. Now, I can't see it over some who have been totally ignored like Eileen Fulton, the first daytime star who could be called a DIVA character.

  6. When I think of Reva, I think of Cynthia Watros as Annie screaming "REY-VA SHAYNE LEWIS!" and slamming a wall in frustrated vitriol. That was a fun, insanly operatic time for the show.

  7. I was never a Kim Zimmer fan. I'm still pissed over Susan Lucci being number 20 and Crystal Chappel breaking the Top 10. For shame. A plague on all your houses.

Wish we could hear Kim share memories of Beverlee M just as Strasser remembered Connie Ford....

Kim Zimmer is a great soap actress, but is she a soap killer? I mean she was on the Doctors, Santa Barbara and Guiding Light when they left the air! LOL.

Seriously she is truly one of the greatest, pity GL never really put her in scenes with Beverley McKinsey, that would have been pure gold.

  16. Kim Zimmer is the best daytime actress I've ever seen, and I've seen many. The range of emotions she can play in a single scene is limitless. She's truly one of a kind. AMAZING!
