COMMENTS FROM THE PANEL:
Connie Passalacqua Hayman (Marlena De Lacroix): Throughout the 70s and 80s no one rivaled Susan's sheer star power and sizzle as Erica Kane on ALL MY CHILDREN. Comedy and camp incarnate! That well-deserved Emmy and the rocky public 19-year road to it is the best definition of true character I have ever seen. Plus, Lucci has graciously represented and legitimized daytime soap opera to an oft hostile outside entertainment world for forty years.

Jonathan Reiner: She was only supposed to be one every other Tuesday (it’s from her Emmy speech, folks).

Alan Carter: Not many characters could face down a gorilla, Nazis (even less believable actually than the gorilla), a dozen husbands, four times as many lovers, her put-upon mother and the father she spent years trying to know...and make it look so elegant. Or sexy.

Damon L. Jacobs:  The epitome of style, grace, humor, and durability, all wrapped up into one fierce package. She is even more radiant in person than she appears on screen.  When I saw her perform a scene from 40 years ago last weekend with Agnes Nixon, it truly hit me that Lucci is not only an international star, but also a superb actress who makes her onscreen work appear deceptively simple.

COMMENTS FROM CO-STARS/CO-WORKERS/INDUSTRY:
Rebecca Budig: (works with Lucci on AMC) Class. She's got class.

Daniel Hugh Kelly: (worked with Lucci on AMC) As gracious and kind as she is unassuming and talented. Outgoing to all, friendly and accommodating, both beautiful and professional, Susan is as good as it gets in our business. Generous to a fault, she is one of the nicest actresses I have ever met, and extremely easy to work with. And she is very, very good. No question she should have won many more awards, but it's not what she's about, which is why she is so loved.

Ian Buchanan: (worked with Lucci on AMC) Susan Lucci as Erica Kane? Two words. Scarlett O'Hara!

  1. Beautiful and talented yet never quite gets her. Number twenty?? Are you joking - top ten easily.
