TeleNext: 'Committed To Finding A New Home' for ATWT

TeleNext Media's Brian T. Cahill reiterated to EW.com that the company is looking for a home for AS THE WORLD TURNS.

AS THE WORLD TURNS may be ending its 54-year run on CBS next September, but the sudser’s home studio hopes to continue delivering fresh episodes to its devoted fans…someday. ”We are completely committed to finding a new home for AS THE WROLD TURNS after the show ends its extraordinary run on CBS in September 2010,” says Brian T. Cahill, senior VP and managing director of TeleNext Media. “However, in order to keep productive conversations moving forward, we will not disclose details of our discussions. We know our loyal fans are eager for information, and we will make an announcement as soon as we have something to share.”

A rumor surfaced online last week that Lifetime may be interested in picking up the daytime drama, but a spokesman for the cabler denied the claims.

  1. This looks, word for word, like the exact text we saw when GL was cancelled.

Then again, we heard rumors that GL and ATWT would be picked up as a set.

  2. Patrick, I completely agree.

Unless WLS has heard anything to back up this statement, I'm not holding my breath. In fact, I've heard more people in the industry (who I trust) state that P&G are commited to *not* continuing this show. I would LOVE to be wrong on this. In my view, the only way the current shows will survive will be either in a web-based format or on cable (Lifetime, WE, etc.).
