2009 Visibility Awards: OLTL stars/writer are Men of the Year
ONE LIFE TO LIVE's Nicholas Rodriguez (Nick), Brett Claywell (Kyle), Scott Evans (Oliver) and head writer Ron Carlivati were named by AfterElton as "Men of the Year" in the 2009 Visibility Awards. Other winners include GLEE as "TV Musical of the Year" and the musical "Hair" as "Theater Event of the Year."

Y&R's Thom Bierdz (Phillip) on his appearance at OUTWRITE
"The event was at OUTWRITE, I was introduced, then read from my memoir, got emotional in parts, then did question and answers for about 45 minutes. Everyone was very receptive. People drove for hours, some from as far as Mississippi to meet me. Last weekend was a chance for me to give back by appearing at an out and equal event."

INTERVIEW: GLEE creator Ryan Murphy
"Sue will never take a backseat on the show, ever, because Jane [Lynch] is so fantastic, and we write so heavily toward her."

Hollywood adds money, talent to made-for-Web shows
The secret to some web success? Treat the Internet run like a TV or movie release, which often loses money on its on-screen debut, but can make healthy profits when issued on DVD or Blu-ray and later sold for reruns on cable or overseas.

With that in mind, major movie studios are now getting behind such productions, giving them a lift in budgets and quality — a far cry from the shaky camerawork and dubious special effects prevalent when Web video became a new phenomenon a few years ago.
