James Franco at Brooks Brothers Christmas Event

Brooks Brothers is celebrating the holiday season with a company-wide initiative that will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases, through St. Jude’s annual Thanks and Giving campaign.
To celebrate the initiative, Brooks Brothers hosted a holiday party on Wednesday at the Madison Avenue flagship (346 Madison Avenue at 44th Street). GENERAL HOSPITAL star James Franco was on hand and We Love Soaps was invited to attend. For the fourth year in a row, special appearances by Marlo Thomas, reading from Brooks Brothers’ new book, “Henry’s Unsuitable Adventure”, and Santa Claus, posing for children’s photos, are scheduled as well.
I arrived late power walking uptown after a matinee performance of Robert Newman's show, "Sessions." I just spoke to Franco briefly and he left soon after I arrived. The entire event was very nice and included the cast of the Broadway musical "Memphis" as well as Wynton Marsalis. As you walked in the store you were greeted with eggnog, hot cider, and hors d’oeuvres.
Brooks Brothers’ customers are being offered a 15% savings on all purchases made during the evening event with 10% of the evening’s net sales donated to St. Jude, a very worthy cause.
