SAGWatch is reporting that actor Conard Fowkes has passed away.
We’re hearing that Conard Fowkes, longtime former board member of SAG, AFTRA and Equity, has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Fowkes, who got his start in soaps back in the days when they were on the radio, was 76.
Among his many achievements as a union activist was the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, VITA, which he co-founded in 2006.
Fowkes played Frank Garner on DARK SHADOWS, Paul Britton on THE SECRET STORM, Allen Ramsey on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, Steve Prentiss on THE EDGE OF NIGHT, Don Hughes on AS THE WORLD TURNS and Arthur Adams on HIDDEN FACES. He also appeared on LOVE OF LIFE early in his career.

I remember Conard Fowkes on ATWT as lawyer Donald Hughes (Chris's & Nancy's eldest child) from his 1976-1980 run & for appearances at Hughes Family reunions like Bob's & Kim's 1985 wedding, Chris's & Nancy's 50th anniversary party & Chris's funeral in 1986, & Nancy's & Dan McClosky's 1988 wedding. He was a very talented gentleman & will be missed!
I remember Alberta Grant as Liz Hillyer on Edge Of Night when Conard Fowkes played Steve Prentiss, Liz's husband. In the Hidden Faces picture, who's the gentleman standing in back of Stephen Joyce (ex-Eli Simms, Guiding Light), film/TV/theatre actress Rita Gam, & Conard? Thanks For These Memorable Photos! :)
I remember Conrad very well on ATWT as Don Hughes in the late 1970's, even though I was young. He will be missed.
I remeber Conrad Fowkes from his role on The Edge of Night. Didn't he play a sort of nere do well character? I ran into him on my job for the Long Island RR. It was an early morning rush hour train and we spoke briefly. He seemed thankful and flattered by the recogntion.He was about 30 when he was on EON> Always liked Alberta Grant his long suffering wife
The man in the photo behind Stephen Joyce, Rita Gam and Conard Fowkes is Joseph Daly, who played Senator Robert Jaffe in the series Hidden Faces.
