OUT ON THE TOWN: 2009 Voice Awards


The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) honored writers and producers who have given a voice to people with mental health problems by incorporating dignified, respectful, and accurate portrayals of these individuals into film and television productions at last night's 2009 Voice Awards.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL were represented at the event including Casey Deidrick, Molly Burnette, Kyle Lowder and Arianne Zucker.

90210 (for the episodes "Off the Rails" and "Okaeri, Donna!" addressing bipolar disorder) and GREY'S ANATOMY (for the episode "Sweet Surrender" addressing post-traumatic stress disorder) were among the television shows, films and documentaries honored.

Zucker presented to Jeremy Yaches and Ross Kauffman who were honored for their documentary, In a Dream, which addressed delusional disorder.

The event took place at Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios lot in Hollywood.
