James Franco Discusses GH at New Yorker Festival

James Franco was asked about GENERAL HOSPITAL, along with many other topics, when he appeared at The New Yorker Festival on Saturday night at the Cedar Lake Theatre.

Of course GENERAL HOSPITAL came up. And his amused response was that he thinks it’ll be a good time. He then elaborated that his stint on the soap is part of an ongoing collaboration with Carter. Daytime performance art? Performance art for the MiniVan Majority? James explained that he’s had to start catching up on the show now and that’s he’s becoming addicted to it. He hilariously told the audience that since it was announced that he’d be doing GH other actors have confessed their passion for soaps to him – namely Judd Apatow.

Medialite quotes Franco as saying, “I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. I started watching about a week ago.”

After a clip from Milk was shown, Franco admitted that he still had the prosthetic penis he wore in the film, and that he’d actually made a mask out of it for another film.

Franco made an appearance on SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHT later that night.
