During the week of September 14-18, 2009, GUIDING LIGHT drew an average of 2.6 million viewers and a 1.9/6 in households, placing it third in viewers and seventh in households. On Friday, September 18, 2009, 3 million viewers watched the final episode of GUIDING LIGHT placing its third for the day amongst all soaps. The series was seen in 2.2 million households with 6% of all available televisions tuned into GUIDING LIGHT during the soaps timeslot. The series finale was the most watched episode of GUIDING LIGHT since the Friday, March 2, 2007 telecast.

  3. I don't have the full ratings yet. Of course NBC and ABC aren't going to promote GL or CBS in their ratings releases. But GL did go up.

    #GL - Final EPISODE (9/18/09) ranks 3rd in Total Viewers among all soap operas.

    He further says: "(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- CBS' "Guiding Light" ends its broadcast run after 72-years with its most watched episode in more than a year and up as much as 50% in key demographics from its year-ago performance.

    During the week of September 14-18, 2009, "Guiding Light" ranked 7th in Households, 5th in Total Viewers, 7th in Women 18-34, and 7th in Women 18-49."

  7. Thanks, Mark. I added in that update. I guess it makes sense that CBS has not put out a release and don't care to promote the soap they canceled. But I'm thrilled the show went out on a high note (by 2009 standards).
