News Round-up: Young, Bierdz, Gorenc, SOS

Jacob Young had "no qualms" about starting eHomeNeeds.com
ALL MY CHILDREN's Jacob Young and co-founder Slavco Tuskaloski had no qualms about starting a new business tied to the depressed housing industry. Young said he’s banking on a home-repair boom to drive Internet traffic to sites like eHomeNeeds.com.

“Foreclosures have taken our country by storm, housing prices are low and people are snatching up those homes,” Young said. Foreclosures are often distressed and neglected properties, “and whoever buys them will need to fix them up quickly — and that will provide more work for contractors and other services providers.”

Manhattanites brings out the best of Hollywood
The night was afire with celebrities at the DVD release party for the acclaimed film, Manhattanites. Talented personalities from across the entertainment industry gathered at the popular West Hollywood club Area to celebrate the release of the film.

INTERVIEW: Y&R's Thom Bierdz (Phillip)
On whether he's hoping that Y&R will deal with the returning soldier side of the storyline with John Driscoll's Chance: "I would like that very much, and because John is such a good actor, I know we can really make this relationship a real significant, emotional one to watch. Phillip can be there for Chance when no one else will, and vice-versa. I have no idea what the storyline is coming up but I see possibilities."

Player is back in a big way
On Saturday, August 22, at 5 p.m. Peter Beckett, the band's singer will be appearing at The Silent Movie Theater located at 611 North Fairfax Avenue in L.A. with Dennis Lambert for Don’t Knock the Rock Festival. The event is for Dennis Lambert's documentary screening his son made about his father's history as a songwriter and producer of many great bands.

ATWT's Gorenc among 23 acts at Charity Talent Show
Allie Gorenc, 13, of Manalapan — who has played Sage on AS THE WORLD TURNS for the past few years - performed a duet of Miley Cyrus's ballad, "The Climb," with friend Janine Silano, 11, during a Charity Talent Show on Sunday. The event raised money for the American Diabetes Association and the Children's Miracle Network. The cause was personal for Gorence whose father is a diabetic.

Was society "conditioned" to accept sexual immorality?
"Characters such as Luke on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Ross on ALL MY CHILDREN, and John on AS THE WORLD TURNS, raped women and became heroes later on these TV soap operas."

Marsha Waterbury starring in "Menopause the Musical"
The Actress recently wrapped a four-month recurring role on DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Sister Theresa. On her new play: "We're all professional actresses who know how to play different roles. But it helps to have gone through menopause, or if you are going through it."
