The Incomparable Constance Ford

Constance (Connie) Ford is best known to soap fans for her 25 year run as Ada Hobson on ANOTHER WORLD. She was born 86 years ago today on July 1, 1923. When she started on AW in 1967, Robin Strasser was playing the role of Rachel, Ada's daughter. The role was later played by Victoria Wyndham for two decades before Ford's death. Ford died of cancer on February 26, 1993 at the age of 69.

I always thought Ada was the heart of "Another World" - she was no-nonsense crap-detector for Rachel, and the loving granmother/surrogate mother to so many (including sometimes, it seemed - me!)
