It took me awhile to warm up to Tamara Braun as Carly Corinthos on GENERAl HOSPITAL. When she debuted, she certainly was no Sarah Brown! Ultimately, during her tenure on the show, she made the role of Carly her own. Since then, she has found new fans as Ava on DAYS OF OUR LIVES and Reese on ALL MY CHILDREN. Braun is up for a Daytime Emmy this year as Ava on DAYS and my fingers are crossed for her. Although Laura Wright has become a successful Carly in her own right, I can't help but remember Braun in the role. Take a look back at some of her best scenes!
I remember watching Braun on her first couple of weeks on GH. Everywhere she went, she carried this huge purse. It was ridiculous. Plus, she was amped up and anxious in many of her scenes.

ReplyDeleteLaura is doing alright, but Tamara really brought out Carly's fierceness and vulnerability.
When I heard that Brown was leaving the show, I vowed never to watch it again. I watched it again, and Tamara really won me over with her portrayal of Carly. Instead of imitating Sarah Brown, she redefined Carly, and because of that, she will always remain my favorite Carly. She brought so much depth to the character that I just couldn't avoid falling head over heels in love with her.
