GL Mentioned on SNL, Letterman and Other Shows

On April 2 on THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, Letterman said: "The GUIDING LIGHT a soap opera that has been on television and radio for a combination of 72 years, has been cancelled. This is bad news for Mitt Romney, because for years, he played millionaire Carter St. James."

Last night on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, Seth Myers mentioned GL during Weekend Update. He said something about ratings dropping because white people now have real problems. It was rather lame.

Have you seen GUIDING LIGHT turn up in unsual places lately?

UPDATE:
Mike and Mike, who appeared on GL last year, discussed the cancellation on their April 2nd morning show.

  1. michael wilbon gave a shout out to GL on "pardon the interruption" on april 2nd during theirquick fire roundtable at the end of the show. he was upset about it getting cancelled, though admitted he was more of a knots landing guy.

it was awesome to hear the show will be missed even by sports writers and TV show hosts.

  2. Thanks, Collins. I'm wondering if Mark Schlereth (aka Roc Hoover) made any comments anywhere. Mike & Mike (in the morning) guested on GL last year so maybe they did as well.
