FLASHBACK: Crystal Chappell 1993

Crystal Chappell

By Cheryl Lavin
Chicago Tribune
February 21, 1993

Occupation: Actress. Birthday: Aug. 4, 1965. Birthplace: Silver Spring, Md.

Current home: Los Angeles.

Marital status: Divorced.

Car: A 1992 green Mitsubishi Montero.

Working on: Playing Dr. Carly Manning on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, on NBC-TV.

The last good movie I saw was: Malcolm X.

I watch TV: As little as possible.

The book I've been reading is: "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand.

Favorite pigout food: Pepperone-and-garlic pizza.

Favorite childhood memory: Eating my Irish grandmother's cooking. She made a lot of meat and potatoes and cabbage.

Prized possession: My piano. I just bought it and have no idea how to play it, but I want to learn this year.

Nobody knows I'm: Pretty shy.

I've never been able to: There's nothing I haven't been able to do.

I'd give anything to meet: Bill Clinton. I'd like to tell him to do it right.

A really great evening to me is: Staying home, reading a book and listening to some jazz.

The one thing I can't stand is: That I have no time to play.

If I could change one thing about myself, I would: Try to define my goals a little more clearly and accomplish them a little more quickly.

People who knew me in high school thought I was: Stuck up.

My most irrational act: Getting married at 20. It lasted five years.

The worst time of my life: A couple of years ago when my marriage ended.

Behind my back, my friends say: "Why doesn't she know what she can do?"

If I weren't an actress, I'd be: Working with children.

If I've learned one thing in life, it's: You make your own happiness.

Three words that best describe me: Introspective, searching, loving.

How would you answer these questions today after all your professional and personal success!? "Loving" is still your core...and player pianos are neato. = )

Thanks for the flashback. Time machine. It's crazy being a soap star. Things you said 17 years ago for publicity must make them laugh. Yea, Crystal's really shy. LOL!
